I am somewhat interested in getting a gaming computer, but I am finding it hard to convince myself that it would be worth it. I can only really see three areas where a computer is truly superior to a console: modding (which I don't do), flight simulators, and real time strategy.
Perhaps there are other advantages, but even together is it worth paying $600+? (I'd have to build my system from scratch)
Please understand that I'm not trying to incite a shitstorm. I truly am interested in getting a gaming pc, but I need some convincing. It just seems too expensive for what it delivers.
ITT: sell me the pc gaming experience on its own merits.
What are the benefits? What are the downfalls? What is the best place to pick one up?
